Puja guide

Written from a printed household puja book and not yet checked by a second reader. Follow your family's own practice where it differs.

Setting up the mandani

  1. Where the puja will happen, draw a swastik in rangoli on the floor and trace it with haldi and kunku.
  2. Set a chaurang, a low table or a pat over it.
  3. Spread a layer of rice on the chaurang and place the murti on the rice.
  4. Arrange everything else around the murti as shown below.

The vida with a coconut on each side of the murti is one betel leaf with a supari, topped by a coconut. The Ganesh vida and the Sadguru vida in front each get their own puja before the murti's.
